| Bones is a television series on the FOX Network. It stars David Boreanaz, Emily Deschanel, Michaela Conlin, Eric Millegan, TJ Thyne, and Jonathan Adams.
The series is very loosely based on the Dr. Temperance Brennan character created in a series of books by real-life forensic anthropologist Kathy Reichs. Fans of the Brennan books have expressed their dismay that the character in the series only shares the name with the character in the books, and none of their life histories or characteristics match.
In an interesting twist, the Brennan character moonlights as a writer: her books are about a fictional forensic anthropologist named Kathy Reichs.
