The movie was adapted by Sy Bartlett, Henry King (uncredited) and Beirne Lay Jr. from the novel by Bartlett and Lay. It was directed by King.

It won Academy Awards for Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Dean Jagger) and Best Sound, Recording. It was nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role {Gregory Peck) and Best Picture.

This film is used by the United States Navy as an example of leadership styles in its Leadership and Management Training School. The United States Air Force's College for Enlisted Professional Military Education also uses it as an education aid in its Non-commissioned Officer Academies. The film has also been deemed "culturally significant" by the United States Library of Congress and selected for preservation in the National Film Registry.

Judging by all the positive reviews of this concert and contrary to his often unhealthy, withering looking appearances in public, Michael did indeed still HAVE IT!

This concert movie was released January 26, 2010 in many formats.

Lt.  Lt. A.K. Waters (played by Bruce Willis) leads a team of Navy SEALs in Nigeria when its democratic government collapses and a military dictator takes over. Their mission: rescue Dr. Lena Fredericks(Monica Belucci), a U.S. citizen running a mission and hospital in Nigeria. Disobeying orders, they rescue a group of missionaries and villagers and are pursued by the rebel army for what seems to be no apparent reason. Eventually, it becomes clear that one of the refugees is the sole surviving member of the presidential family, whom the rebels wish to kill. 

Tears of the Sun features several refugees portrayed by real African refugees now living in the United States. It is also one the first American films to star Monica Bellucci.

It received a rating of 6.4/10 from IMDB. $13 at Amazon.com

The end is his "finest moment" and it would be lovely if we could all show the dignity that he did, in not humiliating his cheating wife and her lover. To let them off the hook with their public faces in tact shows a great deal of integrity, and perhaps is even more humiliating for the wife when she realizes that not only has she behaved very badly towards him, but that he knows it and can still behave better than she can!

You will not be disappointed adding this DVD to your collection!

Damon Wayans did a lot of research for the character that he portrays, which included spending 2 weeks will real Marine Drill instructors. It has paid off well, because everything he does, from his voice cadence to the way he points at someone with his whole hand is completely authentic.

So for all you former "Devil Dogs" out there, buy this movie, you will not be sorry.

I owned both of these separately, but the twin pack is a must for any comedy or Sandler fan. His early work is his funniest, especially "Happy Gilmore." Trade in your old ones and bring home this twin pack. It is worth every dime!
